Haddington Garden’s ‘PoppyScotland Garden of Remembrance’ Raises £245 in its First Year
“For the first time at the end of 2025 St Mary’s Pleasance created a Garden of Remembrance in the run up to Armistice Day to remember the fallen in past wars. Visitors were encouraged to visit and plant a cross to commemorate friends and family members,” says Lt Col Stuart Crawford, a Haddington Garden Trustee and veteran of the 4th Royal Tank Regiment.
“Visitors were very generous with their donations to PoppyScotland and £245.75 was raised to support our Armed Forces community.”
Jessica Gillespie from Poppy Scotland wrote in their letter of thanks:
“Donations of every kind are vital in ensuring our Welfare Services team has the resources needed… Our mission aims to reach those who have served, those still serving, and their families during time of crisis and need, offering practical advice, assistance and financial support when it is needed most.”
Both Poppy Scotland and the the Haddington Garden Trustees hope that the Garden of Remembrance will become an annual event.
